The Guam Philharmonic Foundation, Inc. (GPF) will present the 2nd SAINT CECILIA MUSIC GALA on Monday, November 20, 2023 at KAHIDA, Guam Plaza Resort featuring the award-winning Tumon Bay Youth Orchestra ™ performing works by:

HANDEL | MASSANET | PALOMO

and music from the Oscar-winning animated film SPIRITED AWAY with music by acclaimed Japanese composer, Joe Hisaishi. The concert will be hosted by Regine Biscoe Lee (former senator) and Josh Tyquiengco and will also feature other local guest artists.

The Saint Cecilia Music Gala is the beginning of fund-raising efforts to send Guam’s best and brightest young music scholars to participate in the SUMMA CUM LAUDE MUSIC FESTIVAL in Vienna, Austria scheduled for the first two weeks in July 2024. The Guam delegation will include the Tumon Bay Youth Orchestra ™ as an official competitor ensemble joined by the Guam Territorial Band – Official Band of Guam, USA who will be participating in the festival as a special Showcase Ensemble. This will be Guam’s first time participating in this prestigious international music event.

A release to the GPF, Guam Plaza Resort, their employees, agents, subsidiaries, authorized vendors and the free press is granted for all rights to exhibit this work in all media, including electronic form, publicly or privately. The rights, claims, or interest controlling the use of identity or likeness in the sound, still or moving images is waived and any uses described herein may be made without compensation or consideration.

Further, the art of music making requires exposure to loud sounds for prolonged periods of time. All participants, visitors and guests, who enter this space do so knowing that there is a possible risk of hearing loss and that use of hearing protection is recommended for those sensitive to loud sounds.
